News: Here I pun, to save the day.
Capcom has announced they will be bringing a new 3D remake of the original Bionic Commando for the NES to the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC this Spring. It will be developed by GRIN, the same team that is developing the new Bionic Commando game for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. And in a bit of punning perfection, the remake will be titled Bionic Commando Rearmed.
Rearmed will add "stunning new visuals, new weapons, online rankings, a reworked musical score and the addition of a 2-player co-op mode" to the classic Bionic Commando gameplay.
УThe release of Bionic Commando Rearmed allows us to deliver to fans of the original game a remake they have been clamoring for, while also introducing the series to a whole new audience,Ф commented Ben Judd, Producer of both the Bionic Commando projects. УAnd with GRIN taking care of development, we can ensure that there is real consistency across both the Bionic Commando titles."
Rearmed will also connect with the new sequel to allow players to unlock new content and hints in the new Bionic Commando.
We'll have more on Bionic Commando and Bionic Commando Rearmed soon. And I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom releases the original NES game on the Virtual Console sometime this Spring as well.
