News: You're the leader of the band.
After first announcing the title back in December, Majesco today has revealed the title and the first details of the next game from the creators of PaRappa the Rapper. Available exclusively for the Wii this fall, Major Minor's Majestic March will reunite game designer Masaya Matsuura and famed New York artist Rodney Alan Greenblat.
The game will turn the player into a marching band leader (Major Minor). In turn, this will turn the Wii Remote into a special baton that will "conduct" the band. Players will be expected to "keep tempo, recruit new band members and pick up valuable items."
The Majestic March will throw eight different locations at Major Minor. Each location (done in Greenblat's signature art style) will contain "various hair-raising events" and multiple obstacles that could ruin the rhythm. Players will eventually have access to 15 different instruments (including brass, woodwinds, and percussion). The game will sport more than 25 popular marching band songs.
"There's something magical about marching bands that truly captures the imagination. The concept of leading a virtual band that's reliant on your musicianship is a perfect fit for the interactive capabilities of Wii," said Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations, Majesco. "The combined musical and artistic superiority of Matsuura and Greenblat make them a natural choice to deliver this innovative title exclusively to the Wii audience."
We'll have more soon.
