News: Cyan Worlds and GameTap have announced that the online world of the D'ni will be taken offline in 60 days.
Just over a year since being launched via GameTap, Myst Online: Uru Live will be closed. Ricardo Sanchez , VP of Content and Creative Director for GameTap explained via the Myst Online forums that Уthe decision was a very difficult one and was made for business reasons rather than due to any issues regarding the design and vision.Ф
Sanchez also pointed out that УCyan is still a very valued partner of GameTap, we are on excellent terms.Ф The post did not elaborate on any alternative methods that could have been attempted to keep the game running but did state that the companies looked at a Уvariety of possibilities for maintaining the game.Ф
Unfortunately, Uru Live will now have its plug pulled in only 60 days, but at least the title got a full year of play time, not something all online titles can brag about.
