News: Two juicy, juicy rumors to chew on.
Activision has been a busy little beaver when it comes to music game-related news in recent days. First, they announce the long-rumored Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and now they've gone and trademarked the name "DJ Hero."
DJ Hero, if it is even a real game, would no doubt be similar to Konami's beatmixing game, Beatmania. But it may be a little premature to plan your next rave around DJ Hero as Activision owns multiple Guitar Hero-related trademarks including "Keyboard Hero," "Drum Hero," "Band Hero," "Guitar Villain" and "Drum Villain." And none of those have become games yet.
Another interesting piece of Activision-related music game news comes in the form of the
pre-order page at BestBuy.com for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Check out what Best Buy has listed in the information blurb:
See if you can drum like Joey Kramer, play guitar like Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, play bass like Tom Hamilton and sing like Steven Tyler
So what could
that mean? Will gamers get a chance to rock out with drums and Steve Tyler's signature scarf-covered microphone in a Guitar Hero game for the first time? Or is this just overzealous advertising copy that is meant to lure in Aerosmith fans to the same brand of Guiitar Hero-gaming we've had for four games now?
I guess we'll find out soon.
