News: Bomerman, Pac-Man and Castlevania win big.



Microsoft has announced the winners of the inaugural Xbox Live Arcade Awards honoring the best games on the service. The first six awards were awarded based on a popular of over 26,000 Xbox Live users. The last four awards were based on Live usage and sales data and MetaCritic scores.

Here is the full list of winners:

  • Best Overall Arcade Game: Bomberman Live (Hudson)

  • Best Classic Game: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Konami)

  • Best Original Game: Pac-Man: Championship Edition (Namco Bandai)

  • Best Family-Friendly Game: Pac-Man: Championship Edition (Namco Bandai)

  • Best Competitive Multiplayer Game: Bomberman Live (Hudson)

  • Best Cooperative Multiplayer Game: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Ubisoft)



  • Best-Selling Game: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Ubisoft)

  • Most-Played Game: Worms (Team17 Software)

  • Highest-Rated Game (MetaCritic): Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Konami)
