News: Given rating for 15 year olds?

The Australian version of Grand Theft Auto IV has been edited to receive the country's highest rating of an MA15+. It was not specifically stated what was cut from the game, but the Sydney Morning Herald reports that the game will still include, "strong violence, strong coarse language, drug and sexual references".

This isn't the first instance of a game in the Grand Theft Auto series being edited however, almost all of the games have received edits to reach the rating. What really adds insult to injury is the fact that Australian gamers will have to pay more than their other territory brethren for a game with less content.

You know, for a country with public nude beaches and Crocodile Dundee, you would think a silly little video game like Grand Theft Auto IV wouldn't really matter that much to them. You know, a "that's not a video game... this is a video game" kind of thing?
