News: We in America finally get a chance to play DQ5 and DQ6.

While not yet officially announced, Square-Enix has launched a teaser site for the DS remake of Dragon Warrior IV (and now it's in full 3D!). Now titled Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen, the game will be released in America on September 16.

Dragon Quest IV is the first game in the "Castle in the Sky" trilogy. It was followed by Dragon Quest V and Dragon Quest VI on the Super NES. Neither of those games have ever been released in America. The good news is that the European arm of Square-Enix has confirmed that DS remakes of Dragon Quest V: The Hand of the Heavenly Bride and Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie will be released in Europe soon. This means they will almost definitely be released in America as well. No release date was given for V or VI, but I'd guess both will come out sometime in 2009.

John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd. comments, "Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen is another excellent addition to the beloved Dragon Quest series. I hope that game players throughout Europe will enjoy the humour and excitement and look forward to future adventures with Dragon Quest V: The Hand of the Heavenly Bride and Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie."

We'll have more soon.
