Back when Activision and five other companies decided to leave the Entertainment Software Association, it was rumored that id Software would follow suite, however, id responded that they had not decided what they would do.
Now, it seems they have made up their minds and have decided not to renew their membership, effectively leaving the ESA.
It is rumored that it is the current ESA president, Mike Gallagher's lack of leadership that has caused many of these companies to abandon the association, however no one knows for sure if this is true or not.
