News: Believe it or not, Castlevania Judgment is a fighting game.
Konami has announced that the first Castlevania game for the Wii will be released on the console this Fall. The game, Castlevania Judgment, also marks a new direction for the series as it will be a one-on-one fighting game similar to Soul Calibur or Mortal Kombat.
The development team for Judgment will be headed up by Castlevania series producerKoji "Iga" Igarashi with character design by manga artist Takeshi Obata (Death Note). Online play through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and Wii-DS connectivity with the upcoming Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (to unlock bonus gameplay content) will also be included.
"We wanted to take this addition to the signature Konami franchise in a direction that really sets it apart from the previous Castlevania titles in the series," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "The Wii Remote and Nunchuk capabilities, along with the iconic characters, make this game the ideal entry point into the fighting game genre. This combination is certain to thrill old and new fans of the franchise."
