News: What The Big N had on display.
Nintendo's E3 2008 Press Conference is in full swing and the company has announced a ton of new games. The conference is just wrapping up and here are the highlights.
First, they announced a new Animal Crossing game for the Wii, Animal Crossing: City Folk. City Folk will be released by the end of the year and will include support for a new microphone peripheral called WiiSpeak. WiiSpeak will be a room based microphone that can pick up the voice of anyone in the room.
The company also announced that another Guitar Hero game will be coming to the DS in the form of Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades. Decades will include a new selection of songs that can be shared with owners of Guitar Hero: On Tour.
Next came a few random DS announcements: Cooking Guide (a DS cookbook application due in November), Pokemon Rangers: Shadows of Almia (which will be released on November 10) and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (coming by the end of the year). GTA on the DS, considering the number of DS systems out there, it makes sense.
Nintendo also talked more about the Wii MotionPlus accessory that they announced yesterday. It will be released next Spring and it will come packed with Wii Sports Resort. Yes, that's right, more Wii Sports is on the way. The game will include such sports as DiscDog (throwing a frisbee to a dog), jet ski racing and (plastic) sword fighting. Other sports will be announced in the future.
Finally, Nintendo confirmed that Wii Music is still in development and will feature over 50 instuments all played with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. The Wii Balance Board can also be brought in to use as a foot pedal for drums.
