News: And with a nifty trailer to boot.

It looks like The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return was just a zombie-killin' appetizer for Wii owners as Sega has announced a brand new entry in the series will appear on the system in early 2009. Titled The House of the Dead: Overkill, the game will tell the tale of Agent G's first fight against the zombies in the Louisiana bayou.

Overkill will feature light gun gameplay similar to the previous House of the Dead games, but it will also include "a new retro look, with distinctive graphics, sound and attitude." Using the Wii Remote, players will also be able to get up close and personal with any zombie that gets too close by "pistol-whipping jaws off [or] smashing in skulls with their shotgun butt."

If that wasn't enough, Sega has also released the first trailer for the Headstrong Games-developed title. And it appears obvious that someone at Sega really, really loved Grindhouse. Check out the trailer below.
