News: And gets a content pack in November

After just a little over a month since the game was released, Electronic Arts has announced that a content pack and a full fledged expansion to Spore are in the works.

The content pack, titled Spore: Creepy & Cute Parts Pack, will be released on November 18 and include over 100 new creature-building components. The pack will be split between cute, cartoony parts and scary, monster parts.

But the major news is the announcement of the expansion, currently known as Spore: Space. Space will be released in Spring 2009 and offer Spore players the following new features and enhancements:

For the first time, players' space faring creatures will be able to beam down from their spaceships to explore new planets and earn rewards for completing challenging missions. A new Adventure Creator will allow players to build and share online their own custom missions, providing almost endless gameplay possibilities.

We'll have more soon.
