World in Conflict: Soviet Assault

Written by John Scalzo  on November 11, 2008

News: World in Conflict developer no longer a part of the Activision Blizzard family.

World in Conflict and it's developer, Massive Entertainment, were left in a sort of limbo after the Activision Blizzard merger. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 ports of World in Conflict (titled World in Conflict: Soviet Assault) were a few weeks from being released along with an expanstion for the PC version (also titled World in Conflict: Soviet Assault), but then they disappeared from release date calendars.

Now, Ubisoft has announced they have purchased Massive Entertainment and all of the rights to the World in Conflict franchise. However, they did not reveal any details about the future of the franchise or announce a new release date for the PS3 and Xbox 360 port or the PC expansion.

We'll have more soon.
