News: And Square-Enix will be publishing it.
Square-Enix also announced that they have partnered with Gas Powered Games to publish a sequel to Supreme Commander. Supreme Commander 2 will continue the PC and Xbox 360 real time strategy series, but Square-Enix has said that "gameplay features, platform(s) and [a] release date" will be announced at a later time.
For now, all we really know is that this is the first time Square-Enix has partnered with a non-Japanese developer on a game. The company has been saying for some time that they want to expand their fanbase in North America and Europe and it looks like they mean it. They seem especially pleased to branch out beyond their RPG roots into the RTS genre.
We'll have more soon.
