News: I think a game adaptation based on the fourth Terminator movie was fate.
While it was confirmed in the pages of The Hollywood Reporter months ago, Warner Bros. officially announced a video game adaptation of Terminator Salvation today. The game will be released alongside the movie, which will hit theaters on May 22, 2009 (I'm counting down the days). It will be developed by GRIN Studios (currently working on Bionic Commando for Capcom) and while no platforms were announced, it was previously said the game would come to "all formats, including next-generation consoles, PC and mobile."
Terminator Salvation will be a third-person action game pitting the human Tech-Com resistance against the forces of SkyNet. It will also be the first Terminator game that allows players to take on the role of John Connor, the leader of the human resistance.
УTerminator Salvation Ц The Videogame allows players to battle for survival against Skynet enemies utilizing an incredibly fluid and realistic control set,Ф said Cos Lazouras, President of Halcyon Games. УThe player will be led through a visceral story with extremely polished production values to create a fully interactive Terminator experience.Ф
Here's hoping it will also be the first Terminator game that's actually good. We'll have more soon.
