News: Another way to play Sega games.
Sega has announced that they have opened PlaySega, their new portal for web games. The selection of games is currently pretty sparse, but the available games have been split into seven categories (arcade, word, card, puzzle, quiz, Sonic and sports) to give you an idea of what will be available.
Some of the first games available on the site will be web versions of
Brain Assist (previously released for the DS) and
Sonic at the Olympic Games (which was originally a cell phone game).
The site will also offer a place for Sega fans to socially network with each other as they earn Rings while playing games. Rings can be used to customize a user's profile and enter contests to win prizes.
In the future, Sega plans to launch another section of the site known as PlaySega VIP (which stands for Very Important Player). PlaySega VIP will offer SEGA is also proud to announce a PlaySEGA VIP will offer another level of games to users for a "small fee." These games will include
Columns, Puyo Pop, Chu Chu Rocket, Sonic the Hedgehog and
Super Monkey Ball Tip n' Tilt.
