News: They're too busy being (guitar) heroes, just for one day.
An interview with Neversoft head honcho Joel Jewett in the Great Falls (Montana) Tribune (Jewett was born in Great Falls) has revealed that Neversoft will not be developing the next Tony Hawk game.
Neversoft plans to release more sequels to the "Guitar Hero" series Ч including the much-ballyhooed "Guitar Hero: Metallica" set for release during the first quarter of this year Ч but the company has let the Tony Hawk series go to another developer.
"It's probably best for the franchise ... it's time for someone else to add fresh ideas to it," Jewett said.
Tony Hawk 10 is currently known by the working title Tony Hawk's Adrenaline and will make use of a Wii Balance Board-like peripheral to simulate skating. Little else is known about the game, but it will likely be released this Fall.
We'll have more soon.
