News: The game's 49 servers will be merged into 18 very soon.
Funcom has announced they will be closing 31 of the 49 game servers used to host their MMORPG Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. The player population on the closed servers will be merged with the remaining servers to create "busier and more dynamic surroundings, more combat and healthier economies [in] the remaining realms."
Of the 18 remaining servers, three will be US-based, three will serve the Oceanic region and 12 will be parceled out to Europe (due to the variety of languages required for European gamers).
Funcom also confirmed they are hard at work on the first full-fledged expansion to Age of Conan and that the Xbox 360 version of the game is still in development.
