News: The man with the hat will be chasing the Staff of Kings. We have the first trailer.

Poor Indiana Jones. His first PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 adventure was first revealed in 2006 with a working title of Indiana Jones 2007 (indicating the release year). Obviously that didn't happen and LucasArts began referring to the game as Indiana Jones 2008 while assuring gamers that it was still in development.

Now, unless my calendar is lying, it's 2009 and an Indiana Jones game for the PS3 and Xbox 360 is still no where in sight. However, yesterday LucasArts quietly slipped the first trailer to the DS, PS2, PSP and Wii game Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings onto the Internet. Scheduled for release this Spring, Staff of Kings appears to be the same game as Indiana Jones 2007/2008, just now on the DS, PSP and Wii.

It's unknown whether or not the PS3/Xbox 360 version is still in development, but rumor has it that not even the Holy Grail can bring it back to life. So enjoy this trailer of Staff of Kings with that sad note in mind:
