News: And Wii Play didn't even make the top five.

The NPD Group (USA), GfK Chart-Track Limited (UK) and Enterbrain (Japan) have released their joint report detailing the bestselling games in the entire world in 2008.

In a stunning upset, Wii Play is no where to be seen, but a Wii game still takes the top spot. Mario Kart Wii, which played second fiddle to Super Smash Bros. Brawl while both games were still in development, sold a total of 8.94 million copies in 2008. That breaks down to five million copies in the US, two million in Japan and a shade under two million in the UK.
