News: More Street Fighter IV content is on the way and some of it is FREE.

Capcom has announced two bits of information concerning two of their most anticipated upcoming releases. First, they've revealed that Street Fighter IV will be enhanced and expanded soon after it's released (which is just 11 days away) with the Championship Mode Expansion Pack. The pack will be available to download on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for free and it will include:

  • Replay Mode Ц Record, upload, and download top matches to share with the Street Fighter IV community. Players can analyze top tiered fighters matches, leave voter feedback for others, and share their own triumphant victories.
  • New Points System - Two new points systems to measure your skill (Championship and Tournament Points)
  • Enhanced Tournament Matching System - Skill level matching system offers improved tournament match making for beginners and mid-level players. Competitors earn Grade Points (GP) to earn entry into more advanced tournaments.

That's not all, Capcom also has a variety of alternate costume packs planned for the game. In the coming weeks, gamers will be able to download the following costume packs for 320 Microsoft Points ($4) each on the Xbox 360 or $3.99 each on the PS3:

  • Brawler Pack (2/17) will include alternate costumes for Zangeif, E.Honda, Rufus, El Furete, and Abel.
  • Femme Fatale Pack (2/24) will include alternate costumes for Chun-Li, Cammy, Sakura, Rose, and C.Viper.
  • Shoruken Pack (3/3) will include alternate costumes for Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Gouken, and Dan.
  • Shadowloo Pack (3/10) will include alternate costumes for Seth, M.Bison, Sagat, Balrog, and Vega.
  • Classic Pack (3/17) will include alternate costumes for Guile, Dhalsim, Fei-Long, Blanka, and Gen.

Finally, the company has confirmed the release date for Bionic Commando. After saying the game would be released early in 2009, they've now said the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will be released in May with the PC version "available in the following months." Did Bionic Commando slip under your radar? Here's what Capcom has to say about the new sequel to the NES classic:

Both the Bionic Arm and swing mechanic that made the original game so unique makes a welcome return. Upgraded to deliver a range of devastating attacks that allow Spencer to quickly traverse the game's diverse environments, players can harness the power of the arm in a variety of ways to take out enemies - launch huge boulders or cars; send them flying with a close-quarters uppercut; use enemies as a shield or whip them into the air transforming them into a human kite.

    We'll have more soon.
