Left 4 Dead was one of the biggest hits of 2008 and developer Valve has responded to the its very loyal community with news of the game's first expansion.
Dubbed the Left 4 Dead Survival Pack, the expansion will be available for download this Spring on the PC and Xbox 360 and will include a new game mode, Survival, along with two new campaigns for Versus Mode. Valve is also preparing Left 4 Dead: Critic's Choice Edition, a special edition that will include the original game and the Survival Pack expansion in one package. It's currently unknown whether the Critic's Choice Edition will be released on the PC, the Xbox 360 or both.
Finally, the company has also revealed that the Left 4 Dead Software Development Kit (SDK) will be made available this Spring to owners of L4D on the PC. The SDK will be available for free and will allow PC players to create custom campaigns that they can share with other L4D players.
