News: As if there was ever a doubt, now it's official.

With a new Transformers movie coming to theaters this Summer, it was only a matter of time before Activision unveiled the official video game adaptation. Today, the company did just that as they announced Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be coming to the DS, PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360.

After making a pretty straight adaptation with the first Transformers movie game, Activision is branching out for Transformers 2 by creating four different versions of the game. The main version of the game will be released on the PC (developed by Beenox Studios), PS3 and Xbox 360 (developed by Luxoflux):

The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game lets gamers step into the shoes of the Autobots or Decepticons, select any available mission and pick from the largest, most diverse range of playable Transformers - each with their own distinct abilities and weaponry. Set in unique environments across the globe such as Cairo and Shanghai, the game allows players to instantly switch between vehicle and robot modes as they drive, fly, fight and blast their way through intense, pressure-packed levels. After engaging in single player action, players for the first time ever will be able to go online and battle friends in all-new multiplayer modes.

The PS2 and Wii version will be developed by Krome Studios (who last worked on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed) and will feature bot battling designed for the platform features of the PS2 and Wii as well as "arcade-style vehicle sequences and flight-based levels."

The DS version of the game will actually be a dual release developed by Vicarious Visions that splits the game into an Autobots edition and a Decepticons edition. Finally, the PSP version will be an "action arcade" title developed by Savage Entertainment.

The first trailer will appear on the game's official website later today. No release date was announced, but its likely the game will be released alongside the movie in June.
