News: More WWII action coming soon.
After the announcement of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 during their quarterly financial conference call, Electronic Arts and DICE have come back with the news that the Battlefield series will be blowing up digital distribution channels even sooner. Battlefield 1943 is being developed with the same Frostbite engine that powers Bad Company 2, but it will be available to download on the PC, PlayStation Netowrk and Xbox Live Arcade this Summer.
The game will be a multiplayer shooter featuring three classic World War II locations: Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. The game will offer 24-player support online as players engage in "ruthless aerial dog fights and intense trench combat."
"Battlefield 1943 is a new take on a blast from the past classic coming to life with brand new technology that we're eager to get into players hands," said Karl Magnus Troedsson, Executive Producer Battlefield Franchise, DICE.
We'll have more soon.
