News: Wii Fit gets physical with the rest of the top ten.

The NPD Group has released their first report of the new year on the bestselling games and consoles in January. Even though it's a new year, there's very few changes from December. Nintendo still owns the top of the list with their unbreakable trio of Wii Fit, Wii Play and Mario Kart Wii taking the top spots. Left 4 Dead and the Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: World at War continued to perform well while the Xbox 360 versions of Skate 2 and Lord of the Rings: Conquest broke into the top ten.

Finally, it should be noted that not a single game from a Sony system (PS2, PS3 or PSP) managed to crack the top ten.

Here's the full list of the ten bestselling games in the month and the console sales numbers:

1. Wii Fit (Wii) - 777,000
2. Wii Play (Wii) - 415,000
3. Mario Kart Wii (Wii) - 292,000
4. Left 4 Dead (Xbox 360) - 243,000
4. Call of Duty: World at War (Xbox 360) - 243,000
6. Skate 2 (Xbox 360) - 199,000
7. Guitar Hero: World Tour (Wii) - 155,000
8. New Super Mario Bros. (DS) - 135,000
9. Mario Kart DS (DS) - 132,000
10. Lord of the Rings: Conquest (Xbox 360) - 113,000

Console Sales Numbers
1. Wii - 679,200
2. Nintendo DS - 510,800
3. Xbox 360 - 309,000
4. PlayStation 3 - 203,200
5. PSP - 172,300
6. PlayStation 2 - 101,200
