News: The jelly bean eating blob and his boy are back in a new Wii game.
Can you believe it's been 20 years since A Boy and His Blob was released for the NES? Well Majesco can, as they've announced a new Boy and His Blob game will be coming to the Wii this Fall.
Developed by WayForward (the team behind the amazing Contra 4 on the DS), the game (which is also titled A Boy and His Blob) will feature hand drawn and painted characters and backgrounds to give the game an animated look.
Like the original NES game, players must feed their pet blob different jelly beans to unlock all of his special abilities. Various beans will turn the blob into a ladder, a trampoline, a parachute, a cannon, a shield or many other forms. The boy will need all of these superpowers to solve puzzles and defeat across the game's 40 side-scrolling levels.
УWhen a boy and his blob first appeared in 1989, it captured the imagination of gamers everywhere with its heartwarming storyline and unique gameplay,Ф said Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations, Majesco Entertainment. УTwenty years later, we are proud to bring an updated - yet still charming - reimagining of this beloved title to a new generation of Wii players.Ф
We'll have more soon.
