News: No foolin', the next Jak and Daxter game is coming to the PS2 and PSP.

Years ago, Sony registered a trademark for Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier. With the PlayStation 3's launch in the near future, everyone assumed the game would be announced shortly for Sony's next system. And then, nothing. Until today.

Today, Sony confirmed on the PlayStation.Blog that Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier will be coming to the PlayStation 2 and PSP. It is currently on track for a 2009 release and will be developed by High Impact Games (the creators of Secret Agent Clank and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters).

Little else was revealed about the game, but Sony did say that Jak and Daxter will "battle their way past air pirates and sinister creatures in their quest to find a cure for the world's eco shortage."

We'll have more soon.
