News: Wizard Defense developer working on exclusive Xbox 360 game.

Microsoft has announced that they've acquired BigPark, a Canadian developer that was founced by Don Mattrick, the current Senior Vice President of Microsoft's Xbox 360 division.

BigPark previously developed Wizard Defense, a browser-based tower defense game that we called "a light, fun game that is accessible to everyone." If you're curious aand want to learn more about Wizard Defense's development, be sure to check out our interview with BigPark's Game Director, Miles Nurse.

Now that BigPark is a part of Microsoft, they will continue working on an exclusive Xbox 360 game that began development in 2008.

"This opportunity provides us with access to the unparalleled talent, resources and exciting innovation taking place within Microsoft," said Wil Mozell, studio president and co-founder of BigPark. "We're looking forward to being part of the Microsoft Game Studios team, where we believe we can successfully contribute to shaping key Microsoft initiatives through fresh and engaging consumer experiences."

It is unknown whether BigPark's in-development Xbox 360 project is a retail release or an Xbox Live Arcade title, but Microsoft has promised we'll learn more at E3.
