Special: Gaze into my crystal ball!

E3 2009 is over. After three long days for the show itself (and one day of pre-show announcements), we'll have more than enough huge gaming news to keep us enthralled for a long time.

But how did our pre-E3 predictions pan out? Let's find out...

Rockstar will announce Grand Theft Auto Wii WRONG!
Another E3 gone, another year without a Grand Theft Auto game on the Wii. I don't know why Rockstar refuses to bring their biggest series to the biggest platform this generation (lord knows Reggie has made several overtures towards Rockstar on the system's behalf), but there it is. Check back on this one in a year after Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars has put up sales numbers of close to a million on the DS.
Scorecard: 0 out of 1 (0%)

Nintendo will announce the next Legend of Zelda CORRECT!
While it didn't have a big, splashy reveal at Nintendo's Press Conference, the company did formally announce the next Legend of Zelda game at this year's E3. Now, the only question is, just what the heck is that blue-skinned wood nymph supposed to be?
Scorecard: 1 out of 2 (50%)

More Lego games will be announced CORRECT!
While we already knew about Lego Rock Band, Travellers Tales made good on their promise to merge more franchises with the Lego brand as they announced the development of Lego Indiana Jones 2 in the run-up to the expo and Lego Harry Potter: Books 1-4 (and thus confirming Lego Harry Potter: Books 5-7) during the show itself.
Scorecard: 2 out of 3 (67%)

Midway will unveil Mortal Kombat 9 WRONG!
With their recent monetary troubles (a bankruptcy court will auction off all of their assets in the next few weeks), Midway was unable to host a booth at this year's E3. So Mortal Kombat 9 was a no show. However, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon posted a bit about the game on his Twitter account yesterday. Sadly, he confirmed what every Mortal Kombat fan had feared, the ninth entry in the series won't be released until 2010 at the earliest.
Scorecard: 2 out of 4 (50%)

Sony will show off some kind of PSP redesign CORRECT!
Sony announced the PSP Go at this year's E3. The PSP Go is going to remove the UMD drive from the system. The PSP Go is going to add a sliding screen and internal memory. The PSP Go is going to come out on October 1. The PSP Go is going to cost $250. The PSP Go looks like sixteen kinds of awesome, but it is going anywhere at that price.
Scorecard: 3 out of 5 (60%)

Sony will unveil Team Ico's next game CORRECT!
Now known as The Last Guardian, Fumito Ueda's next game was finally unveiled at this year's E3. The story of a boy and his large, monstrous companion (echoes of both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus?). What's really amazing is that the leaked video for "Project Trico" proved to be right on the money. Between this and the PSP Go (see above), leaks really let the air out of some of Sony's announcements and made the job of prognosticating very easy.
Scorecard: 4 out of 6 (75%)

Square-Enix will date Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Quest IX Partial Credit
Dragon Quest IX was a complete no-show at E3 (it didn't even appear on any of Nintendo's "These games will eventually come out" lists).

On the other hand, Final Fantasy XIII made an appearance at both Microsoft and Sony's Press Conferences and wowed the crowds at both. Quarter credit is awarded due to the fact that Square-Enix at least narrowed the release date down to Spring 2009.
Scorecard: 4.25 out of 7 (61%)

Nintendo will announce Star Fox Wii WRONG!
Star Fox is once again a no show on the Wii. But it has to be coming soon right? It's one of Nintendo's biggest franchises. It wouldn't go the way of StarTropics or Pilotwings or Earthbound or Kid Icarus... Oh, crap.

Nintendo! Bring back Star Fox! Pretty please?
Scorecard: 4.25 out of 8 (53%)

Factor 5 will unveil their Wii project WRONG!
If Factor 5 is still working on their Wii project, it wasn't at E3.
Scorecard: 4.25 out of 9 (47%)
