News: So says lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong.
Green Day was on Kevin and Bean's Breakfast show on KROQ yesterday and lead singer Billy Joe Armstrong spilled the beans that the band is working with Harmonix to bring their music to Rock Band.
A listener called in to the show and asked Armstrong when Green Day's music would be appearing in Rock Band. To which Billy Joe responded:
"Uh yeah, we're doing a whole Green Day Rock Band... uh."
Armstrong was then asked when we would get a chance to play it and he replied with:
I'm not sure... soon. Like I think not this week, but this year soon... by the end of this year.
From these quotes, it seems unlikely that Harmonix is working on a full Green Day game in the vein of
The Beatles: Rock Band. More likely, the company plans to bring some of the band's songs to the Rock Band Store in downloadable format.
This would mark the first tracks from the band would appear in
Guitar Hero or Rock Band. Considering the Rock Band Store includes over 600 songs, it is practically a crime that it has taken them this long to add a Green Day song.
