Electronic Arts has announced that The Sims 3, the latest game in The Sims series, has sold 1.4 million copies in its first week of availability. This marks the biggest first week sales for a game or expansion in the Sims franchise ever.
EA is also proud of the fact that players have downloaded over seven million pieces of player created content (made up of Sims, stories, houses and other in-game items) in The Sims 3. Further more, the iPhone/iPod Touch version has taken over the number one spot on the "Top Paid Apps" list on June 2 and has remained there ever since.
