Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 special edition to include working night vision goggles @ Gaming Target

Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward's Community Manager, is at it again. After revealing to the world that Modern Warfare 2 had been officially renamed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, he has now gotten his hands on the two different special editions of the game.

The regular special edition, known as the Hardened Edition will come in special "Steelbook" packaging and include an exclusive art book titled Beyond the Lines: Art of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and a download code for Call of Duty Classic, a PSN/Xbox Live Arcade remake of the original Call of Duty.

But that's just the regular special edition, Bowling goes on to reveal the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 "Prestige Edition." The Prestige Edition includes everything from the Hardened Edition along with "fully functioning" night vision goggles and a sculpted head that can be used as a display stand for the goggles.

Wow. Now that is special.

The Hardened Edition and the Prestige Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released alongside the regular edition on November 10 for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. There was no mention how much either edition will cost, but Amazon currently has the Hardened Edition available for pre-order for $79.99. In the video, the special editions were only revealed for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, it's unknown if PC players will get a chance to play with real night vision goggles too.
