News: The Hives bring down the house (that's made of Legos).
Both the Rock Band franchise and the Guitar Hero series have "family friendly" spinoffs planned for a release this Fall. While Guitar Hero is going for the bright colors and top 40 pop of Band Hero, Rock Band has tapped the Lego brand to bring the world Lego Rock Band.
And if this first gameplay trailer is anything to go by (courtesy of MTV Multiplayer), it will be seriously hardcore.
Watch as a group of Lego Minifigs rock out to "Tick Tick Boom" by The Hives (complete with a note chart made up of Lego bricks) and bust up a building in a reverse of the classic Looney Tunes short "Rhapsody in Rivets". And then remember that this is only the beginning, as players will also be able to rock out with other songs such as Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name", Sum 41's "In Too Deep", Counting Crows' "Accidentally in Love" and Blink-182's "Aliens Exist" on the PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 (a DS version is also in the works) this Fall.
