Contra ReBirth and Super Return of the Jedi added to Wii Shop @ Gaming Target

News: Gentlemen, ready your Spread Guns!

As they announced on Friday, Konami has added Contra ReBirth, a retro-tinged new entry in the Contra series, to the Wii Shop Channel today. The game follows on the heels of the similarly retro-styled Gradius ReBirth. Hopefully, this is just the second in a whole series of "ReBirth" reimaginings as Konami has a ton of franchises that could use a new look at an old style of play.

Two other games will be added to the Wii Shop Channel this week. The space shooter ColorZ (which sounds a little like Ikaruga) from developer Exkee will be available for 700 Wii Points ($7). And the final part of the Super Star Wars trilogy, Super Star Wars: Super Return of the Jedi, will be added to the Virtual Console by LucasArts.

On the DSiWare front, Nintendo will be releasing Clubhouse Games Express: Family Favorites, a mini-collection of card games for up eight players.
