News: Final Fantasy XIII finally has a release date.
Square-Enix held the Final Fantasy XIII Premiere Party, a press event concerning Final Fantasy XIII, earlier today in Japan and announced the news the entire gaming world has been waiting for: the game's release date.
According to the company's President, Yoichi Wada, Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Japan for the PlayStation 3 on December 17. Those of us in the rest of the world will have to wait a little bit longer for the PS3 and Xbox 360 release.
Wada said the company is aiming for a Spring 2010 release date, but would not get any more specific than that:
"In the past, it's taken a year or half a year to release our games abroad, but this time we are aiming for an international release this Spring".
A new trailer for the game was also shown at the event, but Square-Enix has yet to release it to the public.
We'll have more (including that trailer) soon.
