News: Get your first real look at the Halo Legends anime.



Spike TV and Game Trailers got together on September 17 for a special "Countdown to Launch" of the next Halo game, Halo 3: ODST. In stores tomorrow, ODST will not feature the franchise's star, the Master Chief, but will instead focus on the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (the ODSTs of the title).



But how can you let a mention of Halo go by without also mentioning the coolest Spartan this side of Gerard Butler? So, during the countdown, Game Trailers debuted five minutes from the Halo anime project, Halo Legends. In these five minutes, titled "The Babysitter", the Master Chief takes on a Brute and shows him that Keanu Reeves is not the only improbable person to know kung-fu.

Halo Legends is a collection of seven short films in the Halo universe animated by some of the anime industry's biggest names: Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio 4°C, and Toei Animation. The episodic compilation will be collected as a DVD and Blu-Ray set sometime in 2010 by Warner Bros.

But until then, here is five minutes from Halo Legends...
