Publisher Atlus has announced they will be bringing indie developer ACE Team's first person melee combat game Zeno Clash to the Xbox Live Arcade in March 2010. The XBLA version will be titled Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition and it will include new modes (including a new co-op Tower Challenges mode), new features, added content and a variety of tweaks and improvements based on fan feedback.
Originally released for the PC in April, Zeno Clash takes place in a crazed "punk fantasy" that gives players the chance to punch out a variety of beasties and boogeymen. Nominated for an 'Excellence in Visual Art' award at the Independent Games Festival, the game truly takes place in its own world:
Zeno Clash is a story driven game. Player's will play the role of Ghat; the son of a impressive hermaphrodite creature called Father-Mother, whose children form the most powerful clan in the city of Halstedom. Ghat must escape from his family and start an incredible journey with his female companion Deadra, who will aid him in the dangerous lands of Zenozoik.
"Upon its initial release for PC, Zeno Clash garnered endless praise for dauntlessly challenging genre conventions and for daring to offer a wildly unique visual style," stated Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Atlus. "We are proud to work with ACE Team, the game's developers, to take that distinct, high-quality gaming experience to the next level with the improved, enhanced, and expanded Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition for Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360."
