News: Basketball games slam dunk the competition this week.

Lace up your sneakers, the annual barrage of new basketball games land in stores this week.

2K Sports will roll out the PS2, PS3, PSP and Xbox 360 versions of NBA 2K10 while EA Sports will bring NBA Live 10 to the PS3, PSP and Xbox 360. Sony will get in the game as well with the release of NBA 10: The Inside on the PSP.

Other big releases for the week include Spore's first appearance on the Wii, Spore Hero. A companion game for the DS, Spore Hero Arena, will also be released this week.

Shooter fans will finally have a chance to play the long awaited sequel Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising on the PC, PS3 or Xbox 360. Sadly, the game was not created by original developer Bohemia Interactive, with a Codemasters internal team taking on the challenge instead. RPG fans will also have something to look forward to this week as Atlus brings Demon's Souls exclusively to the PS3.

The kids will get a chance to return to the Star Wars universe with Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes on the DS, PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360. And finally, Konami is releasing a game that is most definitely not for kids, the video game adaptation of Saw. Oh yes, there will be plenty of blood in that one.
