News: So says the Twitter feed of Mario.
Faster than you can say "Nintendo does not comment on rumors and speculation" comes word that the company is hard at work on another Mario, straight from Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario himself! In the past few months, Martinet has discovered the wonderful world of Twitter and over the last few days he has been posting about his recent Mario-related voiceover work:
Mama Mia!!!! I'm going to Seattle this week to record a new Mario game! Woo Hooo!!!!! I can hardly wait!!!!1

Big day tomorrow! Seattle for a new Mario game! Yippee!!! And just as a joke, it's going to rain....in San Francisco tomorrow!

Awesome new Mario Game! And it's not NSMB Wii, and it's not Galaxy 2, but it's going to be crazy fun!
October 17Wait, what? There's another Mario game in development that's not
New Super Mario Bros. Wii or
Super Mario Galaxy 2? While that's not too surprising (Mario appears in about five new games a year), it is pretty surprising to hear it announced through Twitter. Nintendo is normally pretty tight-lipped about all of their future projects, and currently, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the only one officially on the schedule. Of course, it has also been nearly three years since the last entries in the
Paper Mario and
Mario Party spinoff series' were released. So something Mario-related (besides Galaxy 2) is surely brewing at Nintendo HQ.
So when we find out what it is, we'll let you know.
