News: No DRM for Mass Effect 2.
Chris Priestly, BioWare's Community Coordinator, has posted the minimum and recommended system requirements for the PC version of Mass Effect 2 on the company's official forums.
He has also posted the first details on what kind of digital rights management players can expect to see in the retail copy of the game. Or rather, what DRM players won't see in the retail copy of the game as it was revealed that the only DRM Mass Effect 2 will require is that the game disc must be in the drive when you play. After the outcry from fans over the DRM in The Sims 3, this is a welcome change for Electronic Arts.
The full DRM details and system requirements can be found right here:
Digital Rights Management (DRM): The boxed/retail PC version of Mass Effect 2 will use only a basic disc check and it will not require online authentication. This is the same method as Dragon Age: Origins. Digital versions will use the retailers protection system.
