Transformers: War For Cybertron officially announced @ Gaming Target

News: Coming to the DS and Wii as well as the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

After a debut in Game Informer and an announcement trailer, Activision has officially announced Transforners: War For Cybertron. The High Moon-developed game will be released on the DS, PC, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 sometime in 2010.

As previously revealed, War For Cybertron will be a prequel story to the Transformers saga, chronicling the civil war on Cybertron. It will also be the first Transformers game to a feature an online, team-based co-op mode.

For the first time in a Transformers title, fans will be able to play the game with their friends through team-based online co-op, or go head to head in a variety of intense, online multiplayer game modes. The game features a sci-fi art style that introduces to fans the entire living, metallic world of Cybertron, as well as all-new visualizations of the iconic Transformers characters in their original Cybertronian forms.
