News: And for a budget price.

Atlus has announced they will be bringing Metal Slug XX, a port of the DS' Metal Slug 7, to the PSP on February 23. The newest entry in the classic run and gun series will also be released to PSP owners at a budget price of $19.99.

In addition to the side-scrolling action found in the DS original, Metal Slug XX will feature seven levels with branching routes, 70 Combat School missions, three difficulty modes, six playable characters and an exclusive seventh character named Leona who will be available to download from the PlayStation Store for 99 cents. To further entice you, Leona will have her own special abilities as well.

If that weren't enough, Metal Slug XX will also include a local multiplayer mode so two players can take on the game cooperatively.

More details on Metal Slug XX can be found at the PlayStation.Blog and at the game's official website, Atlus.com/metalslugxx.

We'll have more soon.
