News: While the underrated Earth Defense Force 2017 is the most popular Games On Demand game.
Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has published (via Andriasang) a list of the most popular Xbox Live content in Japan last year and since the system launched.
Among game demos, Bayonetta and her witchy ways lead the pack in 2009 and placed fourth on the all-time list. Resident Evil 5 took the top spot in the all-time list as well as number six on the 2009 list.
When it comes to full games, the underrated
Earth Defense Force 2017 was the most popular game on the Xbox Live Games On Demand service. As the service just started in 2009, that also makes the leader on the all-time list.
Finally, Sega's giant mecha game
Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram was the most downloaded Xbox Live Arcade game of 2009. However, that showing was only good enough for second place on the all-time as The Behemoth's
Castle Crashers proves to be just as popular in Japan as it is in the rest of the world.
You can find the top ten demos, Xbox Live Arcade games and Games On Demand releases for 2009 below. And be sure to check out the Andriasang link for the full all-time rankings for demo downloads, XBLA games, add-on content and game videos.
