News: And it could be mistaken for RC Pro Am HD.

Slick Entertainment's last release was the astounding Xbox Live Arcade version of N+ and while their next game, Scrap Metal, has nothing to do with treasure hunting ninjas, it looks just as compelling.

Scrap Metal is a top-down racer that looks more than a little like an updated version of RC Pro Am. The game will feature 60 single-player races in addition to a bevy of multiplayer modes such as a Destruction Derby mode, a Tank War mode, King of the Hill and something called "Gasoline". It will also offer four-player splitscreen and online multiplayer modes.

Not only that, but the game will also include an "anaglyph 3D mode" that will make the cars of Scrap Metal seem to jump out of the screen (provided you have a pair of the classic red and cyan 3D glasses).

Slick has launched a website for Scrap Metal features a bunch of screenshots and a dev blog detailing the game's anaglyph 3D mode at ScrapMetalGame.com. They've also released a new trailer for the game, which you can check out right here:

What'd I tell you? Scrap Metal definitely looks like the heir apparent to RC Pro Am. But we'll know for sure when it's released for the Xbox Live Arcade this Spring.
