News: Get ready to go to Hell a second time.
The game retail release is still a week away, but Electronic Arts has announced that Dante's Inferno will receive a downloadable expansion on April 29.
Dubbed The Trials of St. Lucia, the DLC pack currently doesn't have a price, but it will add an arena-based co-op minigame to the "Divine Comedy" adaptation. According to Kotaku, the downloadable content will feature a new playable character, St. Lucia of Syracuse, and include a social connectivity component as players can upload user-created Trials for Dante to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live:
Players will be able to create custom trials, testing their skills against waves of enemies, some exclusive to the St. Lucia DLC. Once their creations are complete, they'll be able to upload them to the Dante's Inferno community, where they'll be rated and ranked.
The Kotaku article also has a trailer featuring Senior Producer Hans ten Cate discussing the St. Lucia DLC. It's worth a look.
