News: The iPhone version of PopCap's popular tower defense game is now available.
PopCap Games has finally completed work on the iPhone version of their highly acclaimed tower defense game Plants vs. Zombies. The game was added to the App Store today and is now available to download for $2.99.
In case the whole Plants vs. Zombies thing has passed you by, here's how PopCap, the kings of the highly addictive casual game, describe it:
A mob of fun-loving zombies is about to invade your home, and your only defense is an arsenal of 49 zombie-zapping plants. Use peashooters, wall-nuts, cherry bombs and more to mulchify 26 types of zombies before they can reach your front door.
УPlants vs. Zombies for iPhone and iPod touch marks the first adaptation of our wildly popular 'flower defense' game to a new platform, and we're excited at how well it has translated to the iPhone and iPod touch,Ф stated Andrew Stein, director of mobile platforms at PopCap Games. УWe've stayed true to the original computer version with the full-featured gameplay of Adventure mode, and have optimized this adaptation around a seamless touch interface. Plus, we've added great content, including the new Quick Play Arena which allows easy replay of any level after completing the Adventure mode, and more than a dozen achievements to reward successful completion of in-game challenges.Ф
The iPhone version will include all 50 levels of the Adventure Mode from the original PC version along with 13 iPhone-exclusive "Achievements".
We'll have more soon.
