News: Sadly, Square Enix didn't break down PS3 vs Xbox 360 numbers.
Square Enix has announced they've shipped five million copies of Final Fantasy XIII to stores across the globe. The latest title in the popular role playing series was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 yesterday in North America and European countries.
Released last December in Japan, Final Fantasy XIII has sold two million copies in its home country with the rest of the five million made up by shipments to America and Europe this week.
Final Fantasy XIII marks the first time a single-player game in the series was released on a Microsoft-created console. Final Fantasy XI, the massively multiplayer online entry in the series, was released for the Xbox 360 in 2006.
We'll have more soon.
