News: And a $15 price tag is confirmed.
Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward's Community Manager, stopped by this week's taping of Major Nelson's Podcast to talk about the developer's "Stimulus Package", AKA the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map pack.
The Stimulus Package will be added to the Xbox Live Marketplace on March 30 for the very stimulated price of 1200 Microsoft points ($14.99). Why the $5 premium over a typical map pack? Well, according to Bowling, the Stimulus Package will contain five maps instead of the usual three. The pack will include three new maps along with two classic maps from Call of Duty 4:
Bailout: A burned out apartment complex
Salvage: A snowy junkyard with trash, debris and crushed cars
Storm: A warehouse complex in the middle of a... wait for it... storm
Crash: A war-torn urban environment with a downed helicopter (originally in Call of Duty 4)
Overgrown: Wide open dry creek bed with a bunch of buildings (originally in Call of Duty 4)
The Stimulus Package map pack will also eventually be available to Modern Warfare 2 players on the PC and PlayStation 3, but no release date was given.
We'll have more soon.
