News: The Dark Knight emerges from the shadows in 3D in May.
A few weeks ago, Warner Bros. Interactive announced that a special Game of the Year Edition of
Batman: Arkham Asylum would be released in Europe at the end of the month. At the time, they said this new version of the game would only be released in Europe, but apaprently they've changed their mind. Today, the publisher confirmed the Game of the Year Edition would be coming to American PCs, PlayStation 3s and Xbox 360s on May 11.
The big draw of the Game of the Year is the new 3D mode, playable with the included pair of 3D glasses. Using the TriOviz 3D system, the game will "[leverage] the depth-of-field while maintaining the original gameplay and colour integrity." According to WBIE, the "TriOviz 3D [sysmte] creates a far more immersive gaming experience, allowing console players to dive deeper into the gothic world of Arkham Asylum."
This new edition of Batman: Arkham Asylum will also come with all three of the previously released Challenge Map packs including "Insane Night", "Prey in the Darkness" and the GameStop exclusive "Crime Alley/Dem Bones" pack.
We'll have more soon.
