News: But still no breakdown of PS3 vs Xbox 360 sales.
Last week, Square Enix announced that they had shipped five million copies ofFinal Fantasy XIII worldwide. Today, they've announced that the game has managed to sell one million copies in North America since its March 9 launch.
This seven-figure total marks the largest first-week sales in Final Fantasy history and has pushed the total sales of the franchise to 96 million copies worldwide. The first Final Fantasy game was released on the NES in the late 80s and more than two dozen games have been released bearing the Final Fantasy name in the over two decades since.
Once again, Square Enix did not reveal figures breaking down the sales of the game on the PS3 and Xbox 360. We'll have to wait for next month's NPD sales charts to figure that one out.
We'll have more soon.
